Lyrics:

Come on, come on
Put your hands into the fire
Explain, explain
As I turn and meet the power
This time, this time
Turning white and senses dire
Pull up, pull up
From one extreme to another

From the summer to the spring
From the mountain to the air
From Samaritan to sin
And it’s waiting on the end

Come on, come on
Put your hands into the fire
Explain, explain
As I turn and meet the power
This time, this time
Turning white and sense dire
Pull up, pull up
From one extreme to another

From the summer to the spring
From the mountain to the air
From Samaritan to sin
And it’s waiting on the end

And now I’m alone I’m looking out, I’m looking in
Way down, the lights are dimmer
Now I’m alone I’m looking out , I’m looking in
Way down, the lights are dimmer

Ooooh

Come on, come on
Put your hands into the fire
Come on, come on

Friday Philosophy – New Days

C’mon! It’s a new day.

We wake up to new days everyday, don’t we? But some days just have a newer-ness about them. Today is one of those days for me.

As happens many times in life, the slate appears clean – all the markings wiped away except, perhaps the little reminder in the corner of the blackboard. New beginnings are so much better than do-overs. They have no end in sight and the past is just that. Your history, glorious or unspectacular, not to be forgotten, but also not to be dwelled upon or held abreast so closely that we suffocate from the mere thought of it.

Old friends pass away, new friends appear. It is just like the days. An old day passes, a new day arrives. The important thing is to make it meaningful: a meaningful friend — or a meaningful day.”

–Dalai Lama

And so it goes. We wake up, stretch, feel fortunate that once again our feet can touch the floor, and we head into a meaningful day.

Onward!
